Where does Parts Out keep its data?
Entirely on your device. There is no account and no server — the library, the loans, the roster and the programme are all stored locally, and everything works offline. See the privacy policy for the full detail.
How do I switch between the British and Austrian instrument templates?
Open Settings and use the Band Layout control. Switching keeps two separate ledgers — one per template — so you can move between a British brass band's chair layout and an Austrian Blasorchester's without losing either set of records.
What does "N parts still out" mean on the Next Engagement screen?
It's the count of parts for the next programme that are not yet sitting in a player's folder — anything still in the cupboard or genuinely missing. Marking a part as given out or returned in Parts Out updates the headline straight away.
What is the Thursday Sweep?
A one-card-per-part check you can run at rehearsal, ahead of Sunday's engagement. It walks through everything still outstanding so you can mark each one given out, found, or still missing in a couple of taps.
Why does the app ask for the camera or photo library?
Only so you can attach a photo of a score's front page or a torn or damaged part to your records. Parts Out never asks for either until you choose to add a photo, and nothing you photograph leaves your device.
Can I get my library or loan list out of the app?
Yes — a player's list can be read aloud or shared as text, and the library can be exported as a file, using the system share sheet, so you can send it on however you like.
